Meet Your Farmer Julie!
Farmer Julie here, and thrilled to be bringing you and your family fresh, local, sustainably grown produce. I truly believe one of the most important things we can do for our health is feed ourselves nutritious, chemical free food. It's no suprise that as we became a "fast food nation", and products with unrecognizable ingredients became widely available and cheap, that the rates of obesity, heart disease, diabetes etc. continued to increase in our country. My hope is to create a community for those interested in healthy, organically grown local foods.
My background in agriculture began in college, where I studied Biology. After graduation I worked in an office for an environmental services corporation. I knew I wasn't in the right field and was looking for a career where I could have a positive impact and serve my community. I had a passion for food, health and nutrition and realized farming was the perfect combination of my interests! From there I started volunteering at a rooftop urban farm and CSA in NYC. I knew then that I wanted to become a farmer so I took an intensive apprenticeship at a CSA farm in Central NJ. Now I'm proud to take the next step as a young and passionate farmer and serve my community.
I welcome you to enjoy the farm and the food as we create a positive food community for our neighborhood together.
